Calculate your due date, track pregnancy progress, and discover important milestones throughout your pregnancy journey with our comprehensive pregnancy calculator.
Pregnancy calculations are typically based on gestational age, which starts from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). This method is used because ovulation and conception dates can be difficult to pinpoint exactly. The standard pregnancy duration is 280 days (40 weeks) from the LMP, or 266 days (38 weeks) from conception.
Our calculator offers three methods: LMP (most common), conception date (if known), and due date (if provided by healthcare provider). The LMP method assumes ovulation occurred 14 days after the start of your last period, though this can vary based on cycle length. Healthcare providers may adjust dates based on ultrasound measurements.
Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters: First (weeks 1-12), Second (weeks 13-26), and Third (weeks 27-40). Each trimester brings unique developments and milestones. The first trimester involves major organ formation, the second is often considered the most comfortable period, and the third focuses on growth and preparation for birth.
Remember that due dates are estimates - only about 5% of babies are born on their exact due date. Most babies are born within two weeks before or after the estimated due date. Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized care and to confirm pregnancy dating through medical examination and ultrasound when appropriate.
